M16A2

M16A2 The M16A2 is the standard issue rifle for the United States Army. Lightweight, durable, and always dependable, the M16A2 can fire either semi-automatic (single-shot) or 3-round bursts.

Become proficient with the M16A2. It is your most versatile weapon, able to engage targets at long range and in close-quarters battle. As a general rule, select single-shot mode when attacking at a distance. However, when you are going to be up close and personal, such as in urban operations, switch to burst mode.

M4A1 CARBINE

M4A1 CARBINE The M4A1 is a shortened variant of the M16A2 rifle, yet it packs the same firepower. Ideal for close-quarters combat, the M4A1 is the perfect combination of firepower and compactness. The M4A1 functions almost exactly like the M16A2. The only real difference is a reduction in accuracy due to the shorter barrel.

M203 GRENADE LAUNCHER

M203 GRENADE LAUNCHER The M203 is the weapon of choice for the fire team. Mounted under the M16A2 or M4A1, the single-shot M203 fires 40mm grenades with a devastating blast radius. Because the grenades activate mid-flight, the M203 is most effective at engaging medium- to long-range targets.

The M203 grenade must travel 15-40 meters before it arms and can explode. Because the fire team's grenadier carries only 7 grenades, don't try to use them like a sniper rifle, picking off individual enemies at long range. Instead, use the grenades to suppress the enemy and keep their heads down while the rest of the team advances or performs its mission. On the defense, the M203 can be used to break up the attackers before they get in close. Bring up Grenade Launcher on M203 with "H."

M249 SAW

M249 SAW The M249 SAW is a support weapon. It is extremely innacurate when fired from a standing, unsupported stance. It is meant to be used while prone and with the bipod support. Use the SAW to provide cover fire for your fire team as they advance toward the objective.

With its volume of fire, the M249 will help keep the enemy's head down, allowing your riflemen to get in closer before engaging. For close-quarters battle situations, a SAW gunner should crouch for increased accuracy while advancing and continue to support the riflemen in the fire team. The M249 is meant to be fired in long bursts.

M24 RIFLE

M24 RIFLE The M24 is the standard issue advanced marksman rifle for the U.S. Army. The venerable M24 is a bolt action advanced marksman rifle firing 7.62mm rounds. The M24 is lightweight, reliable and extremely accurate. Simple in design, it is renowned as the best advanced marksman rifle in the world.

M82 RIFLE

M82 RIFLE The Barrett M82A1 is a magazine-fed, semi-automatic advanced marksman rifle. Capable of engaging individual targets and equipment at distances of over a kilometer, the M82A1 is equipped with a 10-power scope, 10-round magazine and bipod. When you really need to reach out and touch someone - or something - nothing beats the M82A1.

The M82A1 packs quite a punch. Its recoil means that you must reacquire the target after each shot. Because it is semi-automatic with a large round, it is prone to jamming. This is definitely a very long-range weapon. When it fires it gives off a puff of smoke, making it easier for the enemy to locate you, especially during daylight operations.

M4A1 SOPMOD

M4A1 SOPMOD The Special Operations Peculiar Modification to M4 Carbine is the primary weapon for all Special Forces Soldiers. This weapon is fully customizable by the player through the use of various accessories (mods) that can be added to the weapon to fit the player's individual style or to meet the demands of a particular mission. The M4 Carbine is similar to the M16A2, but it is more compact and features a collapsible stock. It weighs 7.5 pounds, fires 5.56 millimeter rounds, and has a maximum effective point target range of 500 meters and an area target of 600 meters.

M16A4 DMR

M16A4 DMR The M16A4 DMR (Designated Marksman Rifle) is a more accurate version of the M16A4 that is issued to a squad's designated marksman. Fitted with a heavy 20-inch barrel this weapon is designed to accurately engage the enemy beyond the maximum range of the other squad members' weapons systems. Typically fitted with the Trijicon ACOG M150 4x optic, the M16A4 DMR is equipped with a 2-stage match trigger and can only be fired in the semi-automatic firemode.
