Fourteen months ago, the Czervenian government, controlled by the PKC began expelling civilians from the country by military force. Over 300,000 people have been displaced and those who refused to leave have been executed. Czervenian President Kasimir Adzic and the PKC threaten to destabilize the region. U.N. Security Council resolutions failed to resolve the conflict and U.N. aid workers are overwhelmed. A humanitarian crisis of epic proportions is imminent if decisive action is not taken. The RDO government and the U.N. have requested the help of the United States. The President has sent the U.S. Army to resolve the situation.
HISTORY OF ODPORZHIA
King Alexander III ruled Czervenia until the end of World War I, when the region splintered into smaller independent states known as the Odporzhia region. In the 70's, the Odporzhia region experienced an economic boom, but changes in the world markets in the late 90's spread poverty across the region. The RDO government diversified its economy, building a vibrant technology and tourism industry. In Czervenia, the PKC party came to power and turned on its own citizens, claiming their social and economic woes were the fault of those who didn't show "proper dedication to the religious and patriotic institutions of Czervenian culture."

When the PKC failed to bring about the promised economic wealth, the blame was placed on the RDO and surrounding nations. Blaming a bombing by anti-PKC rebels on the RDO military, Czervenia declared war and invaded the RDO. The PKC has rallied the Czervenian people around the banner of restoring the region to its former glory under King Alexander.

Fleeing the Czervenian military, waves of refugees poured out of Czervenia into the RDO. The RDO provided safe haven for the refugees and made a formal protest to the United Nations. Unable to handle the influx of refugees and the brute force of the Czervenian military, the United States has offered the assistance of the U.S. Army. Outraged, Czervenian President Kazimir Adiz said, "My message to them is, not in two weeks, not in two months, not in two years, never! We must be clear that we will not surrender and we will not turn Czervenia over to the invaders and those who support them in the south."

ORGANIZATIONS

Czervenia

The events of World War I fractured the region, and King Alexander was unable to hold the region together. The area that constitutes modern Czervenia was all that remained of a once proud kingdom. While the monarchy faded from power, the memory of Czervenias' grand history did not fade from the Czervenia's cultural memory. Within Czervenian culture, this time is seen through a rose colored lens as the time of a noble king who ruled his subjects justly.

As the economic boom of the 70s and 80s made the Czervenian people wealthy, they also saw their homeland change. The PKC arose during the economic boom of the past 30 years in backlash to the diversification of the region. While the PKC was not opposed to ethnic diversity, this minor political party did protest the perceived failure of those groups to assimilate into the regional culture.

As the economy slowed, unemployment rose steadily and those affected by the depression looked for someone to blame. PKC leader Kazimir Adzic called for party members to keep watch for those who did not display the proper national character. "Citizen Organizations" cropped up across the country in every aspect of public life, but became most common on university campuses. While the PKC held little political power at the time, it stifled any discussion by attacking political thinkers, professors and anyone else who challenged the PKC philosophy. The PKC came to power on a platform of curbing the civil unrest and restoring the economy. When the economy failed to strengthen after solid PKC rule, the PKC turned its ire on the RDO to the south, claiming the cheap products from the south were harming the Czervenian economy. When the PKC declared war on the RDO, President Kazimir Adzic declared that Czervenia would not rest until the entire region was unified under the flag of one nation and the region was restored to its former glory.

Nocza Militarni zo ta Ekspedi (N.M.E)

The Nocza zo ta Ekspedi (Military Expedition Force) is a branch of the Czervenian military created to unite the Czervenian region under the PKC. Every platoon has a political officer appointed by the PKC. The political officer ensures military personnel show dedication to the Czervenian character and has the authority to remove any military personnel from duty if he or she is deemed "slabil" or weak. This is used to maintain party control of the military and ensure that orders are not questioned. Those who show the greatest dedication to Czervenian character are recruited from the N.M.E. to serve in the Sozmoten Vilkas, the Czervenian special forces. The SV are made up of the most fanatical military personnel in the N.M.E..

Republik Demokratzny za ta Ostregals (RDO)

The Republik Demokratzny zo ta Ostregals is a young nation but very proud of its history. When the RDO discovered oil in the Grakozhia Sea, an economic boom increased the wealth of every nation in Odporzhia. All the nations took advantage of the influx of workers, but the RDO was the nation that welcomed them openly. Unlike Czervenia, the RDO made an effort to include immigrants in the governmental process and the RDO quickly became the center of culture in the region.

When the economic collapse hit in the 90s, the RDO government realized the diversity was its strength. The programs initiated by Prime Minister Helena Procházková took a nation from financial ruin to extreme wealth. Thriving technology and tourism industries defined the RDO. European and American tourists come every year to experience the culture, from the architecture of the Buddhist monasteries to grand Eastern Orthodoxy churches. The area is renowned for its arts and cuisine, and has some of the finest beaches in the region.

Sadly, this also made it Czervenia's first target. The success of the RDO was jealously watched by many Czervenians to the north and viewed as a challenge to Czervenian pride. After all, the Czervenians sat on the seat of their region's history, and they saw the RDO's success as an insult to their national pride. The PKC came to power in Czervenia, and Prime Minister Procházková and the parliament were unprepared for the events that followed. They realize neither their government, nor the security force was prepared for what was to come, and they turned to the international community for help.

Nocza zo ta Sekuridat zo ta Ostregals (NSO)

Czervenia developed its military with the goal projecting power, but the RDO focused on maintaining local stability and security. They were caught unprepared when skirmishes took place between the NSO and N.M.E.. While the NSO performs well at law enforcement and peacekeeping, it was unprepared for the shear brute force of the N.M.E.. Early losses during the war forced the RDO parliament to request military aide from the United States. The U.S. Army moved quickly to train the NSO for war against a traditional military force.
