FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS

QUESTIONS & ANSWERS FOR: KNOWN ISSUES

1.   WHEN ATTEMPTING TO LOGIN TO THE GAME, I'M RECEIVING THE ERROR MESSAGE "UNABLE TO LOGIN TO YOUR ACCOUNT. EITHER THE AUTHORIZATION SERVER IS UNDERGOING MAINTENANCE OR THERE IS A PROBLEM WITH YOUR INTERNET CONNECTION."
Answer:
Several possible solutions exist for this issue. The solutions are listed with the most likely item as number 1, the next most likely item is number 2 and so on.

1) This is most likely due to your firewall or security programs not allowing the executable full internet access. Please ensure that the process AA3Game.exe is not being blocked. AA3Game.exe is located in the C:\Program Files\Steam\steamapps\common\America's Army 3\Binaries directory. Some firewalls will block programs even when disabled (IE: Zone Alarm). You may need to launch the program and manually add an exception.

Additional locations for your game files may be identified here: http://www.americasarmy.com/support/manual.php

2) You are using an older version of America's Army. Please ensure that you're using the most current version of the game. Depending on your download application, update your game from Steam or the Deploy Client

For Steam:
1. Open Steam.
2. Go to the "My Games" tab.
3. Right click on the America's Army icon.
4. Select the properties option.
5. A popup box appears and you will select the “Update tab”.
5. In the drop down box you will have two selections. Select the "Always keep this game up to date". This is the default option through Steam.
6. Press close.

For the Deploy Client:
1. Open the Deploy Client
2. Select options
3. Check the box to Allow Automatic Game Updates OR select Check for Game Updates
4. Close the Options window

3) A router may not be configured correctly and is blocking America's Army. Access the routers configuration and make sure the correct ports are open/forwarded. You can review the required client ports here:

4) The network you are connected to may be blocking America's Army. Most common places that will block games from accessing the Internet/World Wide Web may be work, schools, dorm rooms, etc. Speak with your Network Administrator for more information regarding access to the Internet/World Wide Web via America's Army.

5) Your Internet Service Provider (ISP) may be blocking America's Army. Once again, contact your Network Administrator and/or Internet Service Provider (ISP) about a possible solution.

6) The authorization server might not be operating as the message indicates. This may be the issue if you were recently playing and are now getting this error despite there being no changes made to your computer hardware or software. If this is truly the problem, this issue will affect all players.
