AMERICA'S ARMY MISSION CHALLENGES
America’s Army Mission Challenge Rules
- Eligibility: Contestants must be of at least 18 years of age or have a parent's consent to join and participate in the Contest. Current and former members of the Armed Services of the United States and America’s Army employees, subsidiaries, advertising and promotional agencies, prize suppliers or any persons or organizations affiliated with the sponsorship, fulfillment, administration, prize support, advertisement or promotion of the Contest are not eligible to win. No purchase necessary to enter or win.
- Sponsor: Army Game Project, 607 Cullum Road, West Point, NY 10996 (“Sponsor”, an official activity of the U.S. Army).
- Agreement to Official Rules: Participation in this Contest constitutes entrant’s full and unconditional agreement to these Official Rules and Sponsor’s and Administrator’s decisions, which are final and binding in all matters related to this Contest. Winning a prize is contingent upon fulfilling all requirements set forth herein.

Timing: The time period for each contest will be specified when the specific contest guidelines are released. Sponsor’s computer is the official time-keeping device for the Contest.
- How to Enter: First, visit http://www.AmericasArmy.com/youtube to get details on the latest mission challenge.
Next, using a game capture program start playing America’s Army and record yourself performing the mission in accordance with the rules of engagement provided in the mission briefing. Missions can vary from individual actions to squad challenges.
Tag and post your video to YouTube following the instructions found at http://www.AmericasArmy.com/youtube.
At the end the designated mission challenge time period, the America’s Army team will select their top 3 videos. Judging will be based on:
- Accomplishing all of the mission requirements.
- Creativity and uniqueness in accomplishing the mission.
- Adherence to the Army Values.
The top 3 videos will be posted on the Official America’s Army YouTube page where viewers can watch and rate the videos for 7 days. At the end of the rating period, the winner will be selected based on the total points received, calculated as the video’s star rating (as determined on YouTube) times the number of ratings. The winning video will be featured on the America’s Army Facebook page and YouTube channel. The winner will receive an America’s Army 3 t-shirt and Real Hero action figure.
There is no limit to the number of videos each participant can submit. The Official America’s Army YouTube channel administrators will add or remove videos at their discretion. Not all videos tagged will be added to the channel.
In the event of a tie, the entrant whose submission received the highest score in the Creativity category, as determined by the qualified judges at their sole discretion, will be deemed the Winner.
Submission Guidelines:
- All Submission must comply with YouTube.com standards http://www.youtube.com/t/terms.
- The Submission ideally will not exceed 3 - 5 minutes in duration.
- The Submission must not exceed 2 GB in size.
- The Submission must be uploaded to YouTube in one of YouTube’s accepted formats found at http://www.google.com/support/youtube/bin/answer.py?hl=en&answer=55744.
Entrant must have permission from all individuals (if any) who appear in the Submission to use their names and likenesses in the Submission and to grant the rights set forth herein. If requested by Sponsor, entrant must be able to provide such permissions in a form acceptable to Sponsor. Uploading a Submission constitutes entrant’s consent to modify your Submission and all its content, as necessary to publish it in an online Contest voting gallery, for Sponsor to uses entrant’s name and likeness, to give Sponsor a royalty-free, irrevocable, perpetual, non-exclusive license to use, reproduce, modify, publish, create derivative works from, and display such Submission in whole or in part, on a worldwide basis, and to incorporate it into other works, in any form, media or technology now known or later developed, including for promotional or marketing purposes. If necessary, entrant will sign any necessary documentation that may be required for Sponsor or its designees to make use of the non-exclusive rights entrant is granting to use the Submission. Released Parties (as defined in Section 9, below) are not responsible for lost, late, stolen, damaged, incomplete, invalid, un-intelligible, garbled, delayed or misdirected Submissions, all of which will be void.
In the event of a dispute as to any Submission, the authorized account holder, at time of entry, of the email address used to register for the Contest will be deemed to be the entrant and must comply with these Official Rules. The "authorized account holder" is the natural person assigned an email address by an Internet access provider, online service provider or other organization responsible for assigning email addresses for the domain associated with the submitted address. The entrant may be required to show proof of being the authorized account holder.
Content Restrictions:
- The Submission must not contain material that violates or infringes another’s rights, including but not limited to privacy, publicity or intellectual property rights, or that constitutes copyright infringement.
- The Submission must not disparage the U.S. Army, Sponsor, Administrator or any other person or party affiliated with the promotion and administration of this Contest.
- The Submission must not contain brand names or trademarks.
- The Submission must not contain footage, music, images or artwork not created by entrant for which entrant has not obtained a license to use in conjunction with the Submission.
- The Submission must not contain material that is inappropriate, indecent, obscene, hateful, tortious, defamatory, slanderous or libelous.
- The Submission must not contain material that promotes bigotry, racism, hatred or harm against any group or individual or promotes discrimination based on race, gender, religion, nationality, disability, sexual orientation or age.
- The Submission must not contain material that is unlawful, in violation of or contrary to the laws or regulations in any jurisdiction where Submission is created.
- Winner Requirements: Winners will be notified by email or personal message to their YouTube account.
- Release: By participating, entrant agrees to release and hold harmless the Sponsor, Administrator and their respective subsidiaries, affiliates, suppliers, distributors, advertising/promotion agencies, and prize suppliers, and each of their respective parent companies and each such company’s officers, directors, employees and agents (collectively, the “Released Parties”) from and against any claim or cause of action, including, but not limited to, personal injury, death, or damage to or loss of property, arising out of participation in the Contest or receipt or use or misuse of any prize. You understand that you will not receive any compensation or credit for use of your entry, other than what is described in these Official Rules; and understand that Sponsor and/or its designees cannot control, and are not responsible for any unauthorized use of your Submission by visitors to web sites where Sponsor and/or its designees publish your entry.
- General Conditions: Contest is void where prohibited or restricted by law. All federal, state and local laws and regulations apply. By entering, participants agree to be bound by these Official Rules, terms and conditions referenced in the rules. Players further agree to be bound by the decisions of the Sponsor, which shall be final and binding in all respects. Sponsor reserves the right to disqualify entries or cancel, suspend and/or modify the Contest, or any part of it, if any fraud, cheating, technical failures or any other factor impairs the integrity or proper functioning of the Contest, as determined by Sponsor in its sole discretion. If the Contest is cancelled for any reason, the Contest Sponsor shall have no further obligation to the winners. Sponsor, in its sole discretion, reserves the right to disqualify any individual it finds to be tampering with the Submission process the voting, or the operation of the Contest or to be acting in violation of these Official Rules or any other promotion or in an unsportsmanlike or disruptive manner and void all associated Submissions. All potential entries are subject to verification by Sponsor. An Entrant is not a winner of any prize unless and until Entrant's eligibility has been verified and Entrant has been notified that verification is complete. Any attempt by any person to deliberately undermine the legitimate operation of the Contest may be a violation of criminal and civil law, and, should such an attempt be made, Sponsor reserves the right to seek damages and other remedies (including attorneys’ fees) from any such person to the fullest extent permitted by law. Sponsor’s failure to enforce any term of these Official Rules shall not constitute a waiver of that provision.
Specifics of prize package are at the Sponsor's sole discretion and are subject to availability and change. Selection of prizes is at the discretion of the Sponsor. If a prize cannot be awarded due to circumstances beyond the control of the Sponsor, a substitute prize of equal or greater value will be awarded. If a winner is unreachable after reasonable effort, fails to respond after 5 days of being notified, or if winner is unavailable for prize fulfillment for any reason, including but not limited to failure of the winner to provide complete or accurate mailing information, the winner may be disqualified. If the winner is disqualified or if the prize is awarded but unclaimed/forfeited by winning recipient, prize may not be re-awarded, at Sponsor’s discretion. Prizes are non-transferable, with no cash redemptions or substitutions except at Sponsor’s sole discretion. Winner is responsible for all taxes and fees associated with prize receipt and/or use. Sponsor’s failure to enforce any term of these Official Rules shall not constitute a waiver of that provision. - Limitations of Liability: Released Parties are not responsible for: (1) any incorrect or inaccurate information, whether caused by entrant, printing, typographical or other errors or by any of the equipment or programming associated with or utilized in the Contest; (2) technical failures of any kind, including, but not limited to malfunctions, interruptions, or disconnections in phone lines or network hardware or software; (3) unauthorized human intervention in any part of the Submission process or the Contest; (4) printing, typographical, technical, computer, network or human error which may occur in the administration of the Contest, the uploading, the processing or judging of Submissions or votes or the tabulating of votes, the announcement of the prizes or in any Contest-related materials; (5) late, lost, undeliverable, damaged or stolen mail; or (6) any injury or damage to persons or property which may be caused, directly or indirectly, in whole or in part, from entrant’s participation in the Contest or receipt or use or misuse of any prize (including any travel/activity related thereto). Released Parties are not responsible for misdirected or undeliverable Submissions or for any technical problems, malfunctions of computer systems, servers, providers, hardware/software, lost or unavailable network connections or failed, incomplete, garbled or delayed computer transmission or any combination thereof. Released Parties are not responsible for any unauthorized third party use of any Submission.
